Belem's Tower and its surroundings

A man searches for octopus in the small pond left by the low tide, near Bele'm Tower. The area of Belem's Tower attracts lots of visitors, both tourists and locals, because of its beauty and peacefulness. Belem's Tower was built in the fifteenth century (1514-1520) as a military fortification. It was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
