The Via Catalana in the Ramblas of Barcelona. Every year the people of Catalonia celebrates the Independence Day on 11th September, when Catalonia troops where defeated by the army of Spain at the Siege of Barcelona in 1714. 300 hundreds years later, in 2013, Catalonian people commemorates this date protesting peacefully and claiming the independence with a human chain, called the Via Catalana, of around 400.000 persons, spreaded 400km along the whole catalonian land.
