Travel in Cape Verde

Some "rabelados" still inhabit the northern part of Santiago island. Originally the "rabelados" oposed the new catholic education imposed since 1941 by the Holy Spirit Congregation, which, is some cases, banned the traditional mix of catholic and traditional beliefs. They are still a symbol of resiliance and they try to keep their independance from the State.
