He started working in 1942 and today with 90 years old he still works with "Montecristi hats", by closing them and taking out any imperfections. He claims, "When he dies, he will die with his hats". UNESCO declared the “Montecristi hat” in 2012 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
