Many of the soy farms are owned by foreign companies that have headquarters in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. Once national and foreign companies realize the margin of profit that could be made with soy, they start investing heavily in acquiring massive portions of land from high fertile region of Cordoba to the swapzone of Santiago de Estero Province.
