The community of Middletown, PA has lived under the shadow the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant since its near meldown in 1979. With the recent events at the Japanese Fukushima Daiichi plant bringing nuclear power back to the forefront, American nuclear power plants have been put under the microscope once again. All nuclear plants in the United States will undergo a round of safety inspections in response to the unfortunate incidents in Japan.
